We offer industry-led professional development to Teachers of Media/Photography who use and teach photography skills to others, and aspiring Professional Photographers. Limited to 10 attendees.

Why Do It

This is a 2-day immersive workshop for Teachers of Media/Photography who need an industry update. Also for aspiring Professional Photographers who are upgrading skills.

We assume prior knowledge of the three photography basics 

  1. Composition    
  2. Buttons & Dials
  3. Lighting.

We jump straight into the commercial photography space. With studio & field work to sharpen up your industry experience. 

We use client briefs, work to complete them, and we review as a group each day’s end.

Next levelling that allows you to take relevant ideas and technologies back into your own job role. 

How You Learn

You’ll have one foot in the classroom and one foot in the real world. We’ll be shooting real briefs and paying clients may be in attendance.

Studio photography using studio lights and ambient lights. Lighting setups include creatively styled scenes in flat lay, tabletop and on model. 

We’ll also explore what outdoor locations can offer.

Who Should Attend?

Ideal for those who aren’t immersed working full-time in the industry, and who are teaching photography classes.

Also suitable for all aspiring professional photographers who have completed our Photography Basics – Composition: Find The Photo.

You may have also completed photography specific coursework at a University, TAFE College or a similar educational provider.

This course assumes basic prior knowledge of photography and using DSLR cameras.

You have a product photography portfolio and are ready to next level.

What to Bring

  • DSLR or mirrorless camera with fully charged battery (point-and-shoot cameras and smartphones are not suitable)
  • Battery charger
  • Lens (whatever you have)
  • Tripod (if you have one)
  • Lights (if you have any)
  • Empty memory card for your camera
  • Any additional accessories you already own for shooting on your camera
  • Laptop with editing software (ideally Adobe Photoshop)
  • Notebook and pen
